Especially when approaching internet affiliate marketing, there seem to be hundreds of experts, each willing to share their ’secrets’ - for a price. But by ignoring the get-rich guru pitches, and focus on the free or cheaper tools available, you can really be rewarded. But like all good things, it takes some effort from you to make it happen. Not a lot, but some. The Jay Diebolt interview revealed these insider tips: The List Every internet marketing expert started out with no ‘list’ of customers or prospects. If you don’t have a list, you can still make money with internet marketing. By using social media - bookmarking sites, blogs, forums etc, you can get traffic to your blog or website. If you contribute valuable posts in the forums relevant to you niche and include your website link in your signature, the traffic that will flow from there will be very targeted - and more disposed to purchase your product or services. Collect the details of people who visit your site - they will become your ‘list’. Bonuses When you are participating in an internet affiliate marketing campaign, especially the ones that have a real marketing machine behind them, you will find you have competitors who are offering lots of bonuses. Don’t be discouraged by this. Oftentimes they are offering unrelated, mass produced rubbish - just to ramp up the pitch. Your buyers aren’t stupid. They can tell if the bonus being offered is worthwhile, so make an effort to get creative. If you have a good deal of knowledge on the topic, you can offer training, a newsletter - actually create a product to go with the launch product - or outsource its creation. Don’t go down the path of offering rebates and discounts - these devalue the product. Get Focus Most people, when they start out in internet marketing, affiliate marketing in particular, will get so excited by the opportunities out there, they try to tackle too many projects at once. However, when they realize that they should stay focused on one major product launch at a time, the rewards will be greater. Spreading your efforts too thinly, will mean that none of your campaigns will receive the attention they deserve. Internet marketing experts seem to focus on one major affiliate product launch each month, one of their own products perhaps twice per year, and have some evergreen affiliate products, that eventually have a life of their own, just working away in the background. Loads of other information was divulged in this chat, and it was real down to earth stuff without jargon. If you are a website owner then you will no doubt have read about the importance of writing articles to get the word out about your site and to use as content on your site. One of the reasons for this is that articles are a great way to build credibility and trust. To do that, you will need to put considerable effort into creating your articles, especially in the beginning if writing doesn’t come naturally to you. Follow these article writing tips and you’ll be off to a great start:

1. Develop a plan and imagine objectives & potential outcomes.

There is nothing worse than not knowing what you want to get out of writing your article. Do you want to be considered an expert in your field? Do you want to be thought of as innovative? Do you want to be controversial? Before you actually say or write anything, work out your pitch.

2. You need a framework for your article

A standard way to layout an article is with an opening paragraph which sets out what the article is going to be about. Then comes the main bulk of the article – usually several paragraphs that cover the topic in depth, followed by a closing paragraph which needs to pull the different points together into a natural conclusion.

3. Length is Important

Don’t feel that you have to tell your reader everything you know about a subject in one article. The ideal article length is around 400 words. It is better to focus on one aspect of a particular topic and cover it well than try to cram too much information in.

4. Be Professional

Keep the content of your article professional and don’t make personal comments about others or use an article solely to pitch your products or website. You need to offer information of value to the reader to make them want to read your article.

5. Use specific details where possible.

For your article and views to be considered valid you need to explain exactly what you mean. For example, if you are writing a product review then say exactly what you liked and disliked about a product and wether those particular aspects are important or not. If you are providing tips then use examples to illustrate your points.

6. Keep the personal stories short. It’s not about you!

Keep your own stories to a minimum and use them only where they illustrate a point that you are trying to make, but not as the focus of the article.

7. Practice Practice Practice

If writing articles isn’t something that comes easily to you then you’ll want to take your time to develop a voice for writing, a style that feels comfortable to you but that also gets across to the reader what it is you want to say. It is a good idea when article writing to do a first draft and then put it aside for a day or two and then go back to it and re-read it to see how it flows.

Regardless of whether you are writing articles to promote your site or web writing for content if you want your reader to take action then you need to provide information that is useful, informative and engaging. Don’t worry if this seems difficult in the beginning. With a bit of practice you’ll soon be churning out articles in less time than you thought possible.
